Barbara "Barb" McGee, 86, a long-time resident of Cherryvale, quietly passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in Independence, Kansas.
Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby McGee and her daughter, Pamala Davis.
Barbara is survived by her grandson whom she raised as her son, Scott Hopkins of Cherryvale, and her great grandchildren, Jerad Hopkins and Tayten Hopkins. They were the most important part of her life.
Barb was a devoted grandma and went above and beyond for her grandchildren. She was an avid coffee drinker at the local round table and enjoyed staying up to date on current events. She was very outgoing and opinionated. She liked watching her soap operas, getting her hair done, and spending time with her family and friends. Barb was sharp, witty and always had a comeback to anyone she would have a conversation with, always giving you a hard time. Her unique and fun-loving sense of humor will forever be remembered and cherished. She will be truly missed by many.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. A celebration of Barb's life will be held at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, KS on Monday, February 25th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hopkins Fund at the Peoples State Bank in Cherryvale, KS.
