Cheryl Toothman

Cheryl Belle (O-Keefe) Toothman, 68, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away at her home in Cherryvale on Friday, October 29, 2021.

Cheryl was welcomed into this world on April 17, 1953, in Springfield, Vermont to James and Louise (Campbell) O-Keefe. Cheryl was an adventurous soul at an early age and developed her love of travelling as her parents moved all over the United States. In 1969 she married Waldo Bruce DeJulio in California. The two later divorced. In 1984, she then married William Toothman in California. The two moved to Kansas in 1996 and made their home until he passed in 2015. One of Cheryl’s proudest moments was when she earned her GED in Independence. Cheryl worked at Amazon for 16 years, unknown by many as the problem solver. She loved to attend area garage sales, go to the casino, and travel. She just adored the time she got to travel with her sons travelling the U.S. in their big rigs, especially the trips to Montana and Wyoming. But most of all she loved the time she spent with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her father, James O-Keefe III, and husband William Toothman and sisters, Sharon Heineke, and Kathy Gohl.

Cheryl’s memory will carry on with her mother, Louise Moreland, sons, Robert DeJulio and wife Tracy of Dewey, OK, and Roy Young II and wife Tiffany of Iola, KS, daughter, Chevelle Izquierdo and husband Gregorio of Cherryvale, KS, brother, Kenneth O-Keefe of New York, sisters, Darleen Reynolds of New York, Jo Anne Mastin of Cherryvale, KS, and Karan Jean of Virgina, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel and the family will hold a Celebration of Life Service for Cheryl on Wednesday, November 3rd from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 417 N.
