Jerry Ballew

Jerry Roland Ballew, 65, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away at Cherryvale Nursing & Rehab on Friday, October 11, 2019.

Jerry Roland Ballew was born the youngest of 3 boys to Thurman and Madge (Kerns) Ballew on July 12, 1954 in Cherryvale, Kansas. Jerry grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1972. Jerry worked at NuWa Campers in Chanute for 25 plus years as a cabinet installer. Jerry loved fast cars, one of his prized possessions was the brand new 5.0 Ford Mustang that he bought off the showroom floor. In Jerry’s free time he loved to fish and go camping with his beloved dog.

Jerry’s memory will live on with his niece, Marcy Brooks and husband Brent, nephews, Steve Ballew, David Ballew and wife Ginger, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Madge Ballew, brothers, Larry Thurman Ballew, and Gary Lee Ballew. Reciting of the Rosary will take place at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas at 6:30pm on Monday, October 14th with visitation following from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 15th at 10:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.
