Jon W. Forrester

Jon Wesley Forrester, 54 of Cherryvale KS passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2025 in Tulsa OK.

He was born in Bartlesville OK on January 8th, 1971 to Jack and Linda (Adams) Forrester. Jon spent most of his childhood in Owensville, MO before moving to Cherryvale and attending Labette County High School where he graduated in 1989. Jon attended Labette Community College before going to work at Vallis Form Service in 1992, where he was a press operator, until the company closed in 2005. In 2006, Jon went to work at Union Pacific Railroad until he was forced to medically retire in 2015.

Jon was most well known for his love of fast cars and loud music.

Jon married Mindy Knight on September 9th, 2000 and they had two children, Dirk and Abby. Although Jon and Mindy later divorced, they remained good friends.

Jon was proceeded in death by his parents, Jack and Linda.

Jon is survived by his children, Dirk Forrester (Breana Mooney) of Cherryvale and Abby (Zeke) Hare of Pittsburg KS. His sister Leama (Sam) Shufeldt, nephews Damien and Andrew Shufeldt and his loyal boxer, Sampson.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Pott Chapel Cherryvale and a Celebration of Life will be held at My Place in Cherryvale on July 20th, 2025 between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. To leave a message of condolence or share a memory visit https://cherryvale.pottsfuneralhome.com
