Karen M. Freeman, 76, of Independence, Ks, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Montgomery Place.
A visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at Potts Chapel in Independence, KS. from 12:00pm to 8:00pm with family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Burial will be at a later date.
Karen M. Freeman was born August 19, 1942 in Independence, KS. She was the daughter of Uel and Hassie (Cutshall) Hagan. She attended school in Independence, KS. and graduated from Independence High School and Independence Community College. Karen was married in 1966 and later divorce.
Karen worked at Emerson Electric for 22 years and worked for Montgomery County Register of Deeds for 14 years and retired in 2017.
Karen is survived by son John Freeman of Joplin, MO., grandson Lucas Todd Freeman, granddaughter Kristen Dawn Freeman both of Independence, KS., great-grandson Earl Green IV, two great-granddaughters Kiara Green, Kamara Marie Green all of Independence, KS., brother Ronald (Ron) Hagan and wife Debra of Wichita, KS., four sisters Deloris (Dee) McLaughlin of Independence, KS., Opal McDowell of Wichita, KS., Peggy Chandler and husband Stewart of Thomasville, GA., Debra Casement and husband Brad of Salem, New Hampshire and many nephews and nieces.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Jimmie (Jim) Hagan, Marion (Mike) Hagan and Clyde Hagan and 2 sisters: Clarica (Sandy) Pruitt and Joyce Hagan.
