Lucille Ellis

Lucille Ellis, 98, Cherryvale, Kansas passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral Services for Lucille will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Friends may register on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Hazel Green Cemetery in Boulder City, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cherryvale Church of Christ and may be left with the Chapel.

Lucille was born September 16, 1917 in Boulder City, Missouri to James and Mary (Vanburen) Ellis. Lucille attended and graduated from Missouri schools. Lucille worked with her family in local Orchards until the family moved to Parsons, Kansas where Lucille was employed by the Kansas Army Ammunition plant along with her father until after the war. Lucille's parents then purchased a farm outside of Cherryvale, Kansas. While living in Cherryvale Lucille become very well known for her sewing and especially her hand made wedding dresses. Lucille was a longtime member of the Cherryvale Church of Christ.
