Mabel Ann Long, 101, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Cherryvale, Kansas.
A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale with the Reverend Brett Dietrick officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Burial will follow the service.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p. m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel of Cherryvale.
The family has suggested memorials to the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas.
Mabel was born May 2, 1914 in Mound Ridge, Kansas the daughter of Addison and Alice (Davis)
Gravel.
She grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from the Cherryvale School System.
In 1933 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Mabel was united in marriage to John William Long and the couple made their home in Rural Cherryvale. In 1995 William preceded her in death.
Mabel was a home maker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale.
Survivors include two daughters; Linda Bolejack of CO., and Alice Long of Cherryvale, four grandsons; Larry Shields, Jim Shields, Steve Bolejack and Brett Bolejack, one granddaughter Teresa Bolejack and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by one son James Long and one daughter Janice Shields, one sister Eva Chrisp and two grandchildren, Bill Shields and Chuck Shields.
