Barbara Jo Logan

Longtime Cherryvale resident, Barbara Jo Logan, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri.

Barbara was welcomed into the world in rural Parsons, Kansas on June 3, 1941, to Roy and Gertrude (Bennett) Garrett. The family moved to Cherryvale when the Parsons Ammunition plant bought the land the family home was on. Growing up in Cherryvale, Barbara was active in the schools and churches. She graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1959. Shortly after graduating she married Jerald Williams. The two later divorced. In 1970, Barbara married John Logan, and the two had 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Barbara worked at Peerless in Cherryvale until they closed and then transferred to ACC/Dana and retired in 1996.

Barbara was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Cherryvale. She was devoted to God and serving her church. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball, visiting with friends and family, fishing, and camping. After retirement, Barbara loved to tend to her flower gardens, scrap book, crosswords puzzles, listen to gospel and old country music, and traveling. She loved country living, feeding the squirrels and bird watching. She was a dog lover and they brought her so much joy and comfort.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Gertrude Garrett, husbands, Gerald Williams, and John Logan, son, Greg “Curly” Williams, stepdaughter, Karla Bohr, brother, Larry Garrett, and sisters, Lou Valverde, Dee Pelster, Kathy Eck, Betty Brock, Sherry Coppeck and Pam Cook.

Barbara’s memory will carry on with her children, Jeannie and husband Tom Titus of Parsons, KS, and Tony Williams and companion Sherry Beard of Wyandotte, OK, stepdaughter, Shelia Mitchell of Independence, KS, brother, Lyle Garrett of Coffeyville, KS, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will greet friends for a visitation at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, KS on Monday, May 2nd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will take place at Potts in Cherryvale on Tuesday, May 3rd at 1:00 pm with interment immediately following at Mound Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions can be made in Barbara’s name to the Proud Animal Lover’s Shelter in Parsons.
